Log in to Windows using an admin account and run full scans. This environment makes it easier to remove malware. Select “Safe Mode” using your arrow key and press “Enter.” Safe Mode loads Windows with only the bare minimum of drivers and subsystems necessary and disables networking support.
The Windows boot options menu should appear.
Reboot your computer and press “F8” as the system is starting up. Select the “C” drive under Protection Settings and click “Configure.”Ĭlick “Delete” under Disk Space Usage, click “Continue” and “OK.” This procedure will delete all your system restore points, ensuring that PC Cleaner cannot return if you ever need to restore your computer in the future. If you choose Spybot or SUPERAntiSpyware, also make sure you update the definitions database.Ĭlick Start, right-click “Computer” and select “Properties.”
Download and install an anti-malware tool like the Norton Power Eraser, Spybot Search and Destroy or SUPERAntiSpyware (see Resources).
